Unboxing! MDF Terrain LCW Sector 38 Hab Block Starter Set

Laser Craft Workshop Sector 38 Hab Block Starter Set MDF Terrain

Hey folks, welcome to Dank Lists Wargaming's first ever Unboxing! Recently, we received MDF Terrain in the form of Laser Craft Workshop's Sector 38 Hab Block Starter Set. We decided to open it up and show you what's inside.

According to the Laser Craft Workshop website, the starter set consists of 5 individual kits that are also sold separately:

"LCW1305 8"x8" Single Story Blockhouse

LCW1310 4"x4" Single Story Blockhouse

LCW1315 8"x4" Single Story Blockhouse

LCW1325 8" L Single Story Blockhouse

LCW1385 Scaffolding Bridge pack (contains 2 bridges)."

For all the goodies inside, the box itself comes compact based on our measurements below. The height of the box doesn't exceed 2.5".

Tape placed in a T-shape around the box's sides and front sealing the box closed.

I broke the seal with ease and flipped the box lid up and back. Once opened, this is the view that greeted me.

We didn't extensively test the packaging of the box. No dropping, smashing, or squishing of the box occurred during the making of this article. What I will say is that while I had the box in my hands as well as taking it in and out of my car I never heard anything move inside the box. In terms of the arrangement of the kits inside the box, the larger kits rest at the bottom of the box while the smaller ones sit on top of them.

Each building comes individually packed.

The bags come folded over but not sealed shut for the smaller kits. Some of the larger kits are not folded up as much as the smaller ones. This means that the bags are reusable but you want to make sure you pick them up from the right end otherwise you will be cleaning up a mess.

When you pull a kit out of a bag, you will find that you possess a building sandwich. Stacked inside the ceiling and floor pieces of the kits are the smaller pieces for the windows, doors, and other such things. Pictured above is the 8" x 8" Blockhouse with all its smaller pieces revealed under the roof piece.

Deconstructing one of these kit sandwiches, you will be presented with the view above of the 8" x 4" Blockhouse. Upon inspecting the individual pieces, I found none of them needed any cleaning up, clipping, or filing. Nothing stands in the way of someone opening this box, removing the kit from the bag, and immediately start building the kit.

No instructions come in the box but instructions are available in the online shop in a tab at the bottom of the page at the following link: https://lasercraftworkshop.com/sector-38-sci-fi-habs-and-terrain/sector-38-hab-block-starter-set/

In terms of price, the starter set costs $74.99. When compared to the combined price of the 5 kits when purchased separately you save $4.96. With the money you saved by buying the starter set, you can reward yourself with dinner out for making such a wise business decision to buy in bulk.

The Laser Craft Workshop Sector 38 Hab Block Starter Set receives the Dank designation and the official recommendation of Dank Lists Wargaming. If you want MDF terrain to enhance your wargaming experience, we definitely suggest this starter set which can be found here along many other awesome MDF terrain kits:

Until next time remember to keep it dank,

Bailey
